The Science Behind The Remy Class IV Laser Makes it an
Ideal “Ingredient” for Your Diabetic Patient Protocols

The Remy & Neuropathy
Douglas Sanford, DC
We’ve been using the Remy Class IV Laser in our clinic for two years for our neuropathy patients. We are a cash-only practice and, let’s just say, it has been very rewarding.
One of the most important things is to educate why it works. The reason The Remy Laser works so well for this patient type is because of the specific pathology: EPINEURAL HYPOXIA DUE TO MICROANGIOPATHY.
The near-infrared light waves dilate small blood vessels; so when the laser is also able to activate the ATP of the cell and induce nerve regeneration and healing, the protocols just make sense; but it’s the business side that practices find difficult.
Many are afraid that they won’t be able to attract cash-pay patients unless they live in highly affluent communities. Right now my staff isn’t even able to take all of the patients requesting appointments and the majority of them are “blue-collar” individuals in their 60s.
What I have found is if you focus on the patient, the money will roll like a river. When we send a patient home after treatment, they come back after 48 hours and because they are feeling so much better, they are more than happy to sign up for the total protocol package for cash.

We integrated this laser [The Remy] into our practice about a year ago and have found it to be quite useful. We specialize in lower extremity, peripheral nerve issues and neuropathic conditions. We’ve found that The Remy has been very useful in that arena.
Additionally we use it frequently in our post-operative management; with slight cellulited wounds or where there’s just a little bit of redness; that keeps us from having to put the patient on an antibiotic.
I’ve had many lasers over the last 15 years and I can say that this is by far the best laser that we’ve had so far.
REAL RESULTS OF A VENOUS ULCER BEFORE AND AFTER TREATMENT WITH THE REMY CLASS IV LASER

Studies indicate that laser treatment once a week for an average of 7.5 to 15 weeks for various categories of diabetic foot ulcers show enhanced wound healing outcomes. “The patients were highly satisfied with the use of the laser, and in general, had no discomfort during treatment.”
